I told my psychiatrist that I was depressed ever since the Bush re-election. A guess a better term would be disappointed, strongly disappointed, rather than depressed. But then again I think about having someone else being elected and what a mess he would have had to deal with. At least this way Bush will have to live with all the problems he has caused in his first term. What does give me concern is the continued loss of so many lives in Iraq and the waste of our monetary resources. Just think what could have been done with the billions of dollars being spent, I should say wasted, on the Iraqi war. In addition, his policies for the next four years as far as the environment, education, and planned integration of church and state are all disasterous. Does anyone really believe that Condoleza Rice can make a good Secretary of State and be successful in reestablishing a better relationship with our allies and imporoving our image worldwide? I personally do not think so. Bush is now replacing more cabinet members and staff with those who think like he does or at least will not disagree with him. We no longer have any check and balance in the administration. All its thinking and actions will be driven in one direction; the wrong direction.
